As we work our way through the pandemic, there are signs that the number of new cases might be slowing. If this continues, the State of California might begin to loosen the social distancing measures, which would allow the Center to re-open on a limited basis at some point in the near future. The “Safer at Home” order was extended to May 15th, which means that our Silent Saturday, which was scheduled for May 9th will have to be cancelled. The Centering Prayer Intensive/Post Intensive Retreat is scheduled for the end of June, and at this time we are not sure whether or not it will be cancelled. We might be able to go ahead, using social distancing measures (6 feet apart, wearing masks, etc). We will study the guidelines from the CDC as they are put in motion, and will act accordingly. As we move into July and August, we will continue to monitor the situation and will make our decision in regard to continuing or cancelling our other summer retreats.

We thank you for your patience and support during this time of closure. It’s difficult not being able to see you or host your groups here at the Center, but the steps we are taking now are making a difference in the number of new cases and saving lives, which is the most important thing! Please check our website on a regular basis for updates on our situation. If you are not on our mailing list, please go to the About page on our website and subscribe to our Newsletter. This will enable you to receive our Mail Chimp notices. For those of you on Facebook, don’t forget to visit our Facebook page Since we have closed our doors our income has come to a halt. The only monies we are currently receiving are donations. I am so grateful for our wonderful donors who are continuing to support us through this crisis! I am well aware that these are hard times for many, as businesses are closing and people are out of work. However, if you have the ability to send a little something our way, we would be deeply grateful! Any amount would be most helpful. As Mayor Garcetti urges us daily, “continue to stay safe and stay home.” We ask for your prayers as we hold you in prayer during this most unprecedented of times. May God bless and protect you and those you love.
