ART AND SOUL OF JOURNALING – Sept 30

Presenter: Chantel Zimmerman Saturday, September 30, 2017 • 9:00 am–3:30 pm “Seeking and Finding Gratitude Through Journaling” “Gratitude turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity…it makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.” —Melody Beattie You may have heard of “gratitude journals”—a place to pay attention to and store what you are grateful for. Recent research indicates that expressing gratitude enhances happiness and wellbeing. Journaling invites spiritual awakening and a time and place to notice the blessings in your life. You are invited to put pen to paper and let thoughts glide out of your mind. Slowing down to write, you connect with yourself, with God and with something deep within you. Take time to take stock of what matters and acknowledge the great Thanksgiving that is your life. During this enriching workshop, you will explore the art of journaling and discover how to use it as a tool to enhance your daily gratitude. The day will be punctuated with silence, reflection, sharing and learning. New and seasoned journalers will enjoy a day steeped in this beautiful, spiritual practice. Everyone will be refreshed and renewed by day’s end. Please bring a journal and pen. Fee: $50.00 with lunch $40.00 without lunch A $10.00 non-refundable deposit is due with registration by September 24 (Fee includes a $5.00 charge for journal materials) Contact: Sr. Deborah at (818) 815-4496

SPIRITUAL DOORWAYS: WELCOMING THE SACRED – Oct 21

Presenter: Bryanna Benedetti-Coomber, M. Div. Saturday, October 21, 2017 • 9:30 am–3:30 pm Doorways are an ancient symbol of spiritual growth and awakening, representing a transition or passageway from one space to another. They represent the thresholds, boundaries and potentials in our lives that we encounter in the subliminal or “in between” spaces in our journeys. Doorways separate and connect, welcome and refuse and serve as a connection to the Sacred. Join us for a day of reflection and prayer as we explore our own spiritual doorways and welcome the Sacred into our everyday lives. The day will include moments of prayer and meditation, personal and group reflection and creative exercises. All are welcome. Fee: $45.00 with lunch $35.00 without lunch Pre-registration required by Tuesday, October 17 Contact: Sr. Deborah at (818) 815-4496
